Tim Harris, M.A. LPC – Intern
Tim has a Master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Amberton University. He is working toward becoming independently licensed as a professional counselor in the State of Texas. Tim works with at risk kids at the Grapevine Outreach Center as well as the GCISD alternative school. He has also acted as a mentor at the Gainesville State School for boys.
Tim enjoys working with kids, those dealing with marital and family issues, depression, anxiety and other stress issues. Tim is also certified in Prepare/Enrich for premarital counseling.
Tim approaches clients by addressing his clients with three core conditions:
- Congruence – the willingness to transparently relate to clients without hiding behind a professional or personal facade.
- Unconditional Positive Regard – an acceptance for my clients without conveying disapproving feelings, actions or characteristics by demonstrating a willingness to attentively listen without interruption, judgement or giving advice.
- Empathy – communicate a desire to understand and appreciate my client’s perspective.
